PLC Engineer

Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and Structured Text for textile automation machines

  • Coimbatore (Irugur), with travel to customer sites
  • 2 to 8 years
  • Full-time
Sortlink Magic bobbin sorter running on an autoconer at a spinning mill

The role

You will write and debug the PLC programs that run our machines: conveyors, grippers, pneumatic cylinders, servo axes, sensors and drives in automatic cone packing lines, bobbin sorters and cone transport systems. Most of our machines run on Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 in Structured Text. You test your logic in our assembly bay, then commission it at customer mills until the machine runs reliably three shifts a day. Strong PLC engineers from other platforms are welcome; we will train you on TwinCAT.

What you will do

  • Write clear, structured PLC programs in Structured Text: sequences and states, interlocks, timers, fault handling and safe recovery after a stop or power loss.
  • Work with sensors, digital and analogue I/O, conveyor motors, VFDs, servo and stepper drives, encoders and pneumatic cylinders.
  • Build HMI screens and alarms that operators and maintenance staff can understand.
  • Test every sequence in the assembly bay before dispatch: normal cycle, edge cases, faults and recovery.
  • Commission machines at customer mills, tune them in production and solve problems systematically: signal, logic, output, wiring, device, power.
  • Agree I/O lists and interfaces with the mechanical and electrical teams before a machine is built.
  • Keep programs, versions and backups documented, and support the service team when a machine needs help.

Who we are looking for

  • 2 to 8 years of hands-on PLC programming on real machines, not only maintenance or classroom work.
  • Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and Structured Text preferred. Strong Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Delta or Allen-Bradley experience is welcome.
  • You have written or owned the logic for a machine that went into production, and commissioned it.
  • Practical knowledge of sensors, VFDs, servo or stepper drives, pneumatics and interlocks. EtherCAT or Modbus is a plus.
  • You debug methodically and can explain what you checked and why.
  • BE / BTech or Diploma in EEE, ECE, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or similar.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites for commissioning, in India and occasionally abroad.

You don't need to match every line. If most of this is you, apply.

5Practical

Can you work from our Coimbatore (Irugur) office and factory? *

Your first year

  1. First 30 days

Learn our machines and TwinCAT standards. Work alongside the team on a machine in the assembly bay.

  2. By 90 days

Own the PLC program for a machine module, test it in the bay and commission it at a customer site.

  3. By 12 months

Own complete machines from I/O list to commissioning, and help build our standard function blocks and test checklists.

Why Indo Texnology

Your work runs in more than 150 installations

Since 2007 we have designed and built automation for spinning mills in India, Indonesia, Bangladesh and beyond, all from Coimbatore.

  • Real machines, real mills

What you design is built in our own shop, commissioned at customer mills and runs three shifts a day. You see your work in production within months, not years.

  • Whole machine under one roof

Mechanical design, fabrication, PLC and controls, computer vision and service all sit in Coimbatore. The people you need to finish a machine are a short walk away.

  • Problems nobody has solved

We build automation that does not exist off the shelf: cone packing with inspection, bobbin sorting, overhead cone transport, storage and retrieval for spinning mills.

How hiring works

  1. Apply online

About 10 minutes on a phone or laptop. Attach your CV.

  2. Call with the team lead

Within a week if your experience matches. A short conversation about your work and ours.

  3. Practical round
