Project Manager

Automation machinery projects, from order to handover

  • Coimbatore (Irugur), with travel to customer sites
  • 6 to 15 years
  • Full-time
Overhead cone transport system installed and commissioned at a spinning mill

The role

You will own customer projects from the purchase order to a signed handover: automatic cone packing lines, cone and bobbin transport systems and storage systems for spinning mills in India and abroad. You build the plan, run the gates and keep design, purchase, stores, fabrication, assembly, PLC, testing and service moving together, so every machine ships on the committed date and works at site. You are the one person the customer trusts for the state of their project.

What you will do

  • Turn each order into a baseline schedule with milestones, owners and a critical path, and track planned against actual every week.
  • Freeze the customer's requirements before design starts: process, cycle time, sizes, layout, utilities, acceptance criteria and exclusions.
  • Make sure drawings, BOM and PLC inputs are released on time and checked, and that mechanical, electrical and PLC interfaces are agreed before production.
  • Track critical and long-lead material from PO to receipt, and escalate shortages before they stop assembly.
  • Run readiness gates for testing, FAT and dispatch, agree measurable FAT criteria with the customer, and close punch points with owners and dates.
  • Control changes: every customer or design change goes through impact analysis, approval and ECN, never only on a phone call.
  • Coordinate dispatch, site installation, commissioning, SAT, training and the handover pack, at mills across India and abroad.
  • Report clearly to management and the customer: progress, risks, cost and the decisions you need from them.

Who we are looking for

  • 6 to 15 years in industrial automation or special purpose machinery, with at least 3 years running customer projects end to end.
  • You have taken machines through design, manufacturing, FAT, installation and customer sign-off, more than once.
  • Engineering degree: Mechanical, Electrical / EEE, Mechatronics, Instrumentation or Production.
  • You understand drawings, BOMs, pneumatics, drives and PLC-controlled machines well enough to challenge a date or spot a missing part.
  • Strong with schedules and trackers (MS Project, Primavera or Excel) and comfortable with ERP for purchase and stores.
  • Clear, calm communicator in English and Tamil. Hindi is a plus for North Indian sites.
  • Willing to travel to customer sites in India and occasionally abroad. Textile mill experience is a strong plus.

You don't need to match every line. If most of this is you, apply.

Why Indo Texnology

Your work runs in more than 150 installations

Since 2007 we have designed and built automation for spinning mills in India, Indonesia, Bangladesh and beyond, all from Coimbatore.

  • Real machines, real mills

What you design is built in our own shop, commissioned at customer mills and runs three shifts a day. You see your work in production within months, not years.

  • Whole machine under one roof

Mechanical design, fabrication, PLC and controls, computer vision and service all sit in Coimbatore. The people you need to finish a machine are a short walk away.

  • Problems nobody has solved

We build automation that does not exist off the shelf: cone packing with inspection, bobbin sorting, overhead cone transport, storage and retrieval for spinning mills.
